This park was the only one with available spots when I looked for campsites so we decided to come here and we were not disappointed. The park is clean and the mission is very interesting. Town is nearby in case you missed anything. Only thing to keep in mind are the highways.
Spent the weekend camping in our Motor Home here...it is so peaceful. Nice large RV spots. I really like that the RV hook ups are near the road and away from your camp site. Walking the trails and checking out the mission is a must do!
Nice small park with restored mission. The river hiking trail was still closed from the damage of hurricane harvey, but looked like it would have been a nice walk.
This complaint is specifically against "Brenda the Superintendent". She showed up at our campsite after dark, just as we were going to put our kids to bed, and insisted we moved our small van so that it was perpendicular to our campsite. Which is ridiculous, because you get two massive spots where RVs and trucks can fit side by side. We had ample room. I asked her could we please move it in the morning so I didn't have to secure all of my counters, put the top down, move car seats around. She got immediately "I'm the law boy, you best done listen" on me.
It's a great place to learn a little bit about Texas history. Easy access parking, small entry fee, and the actors were brilliant.
Web stayed in almost every state park in Texas and Goliad will not be on our return trip list.
I've never been spoken to by a Texas State Park official like this in my life. I thinks it's time Brenda was perhaps positioned in a non-public facing role. I'll be filing a formal complaint, though the process is long, this behavior was so egregious. No person should be immediately silenced for simply asking if they can wait until morning to move a small van that is 100% on the concrete and in every other way within the campground regulations, especially not a paying customer and a Texan resident to boot.
